Certain categories of information such as name, profile picture, buddies list, clubs list, location and interests are considered as publicly available to everyone. Certain details may then be chosen to be kept hidden until a buddy confirmation is made to anyone wishing to see further information.
SportsPlaya is a free of charge service and will be supported by a number of means. One of these will be via advertising revenue. We will not share your personal details directly with any advertising agency and we will manage the process in which ads may reach you determined by what information you have shared with the website. We may use forms of conversation tracking (meaning we learn from your activity on SportsPlaya) to make sure you receive relevant ads which will benefit both the user and the third party. This information may also then be used to make certain suggestions to you. We may use cookies in some instances again to track activity and location / device used to access SportsPlaya and to know when you are logged into the service.
SportsPlaya assumes that any content added by any user is their property and they have the rights to do so. SportsPlaya will not then use any content without the user's consent to do so. To continue providing SportsPlaya as valued service all content will be stored as metadata.
SportsPlaya uses automated measures to analyse account activity so that we can monitor social behaviour, potential fraudulent activity or other anomalous behaviour that is considered detrimental to SportsPlaya or any SportsPlaya user. Any signs or reports of abuse to the site will be logged and may result in limited use of SportsPlaya's service or a suspension or disablement of an account. SportsPlaya will also remove any content we feel is illegally uploaded or shared and will retain the right to carry out any of the above activity in order to protect the service.

SportsPlaya treat all data associated with the service as crucial to development and user satisfaction. We hold all data in a secured server environment behind firewalls. Although we put extreme security measures in place to protect all user data and information we cannot guarantee that details may be viewed via unauthorised sources as no measures are impenetrable and we cannot control the activity of users outside of SportsPlaya.
As a standard user procedure, we'd recommend using a strong password of letters and numbers combined, vary passwords between different services and ensure your computer has up to date antivirus software loaded.
SportsPlaya will continue to develop and update our privacy policy in order to stay in line with the ever changing and demanding world of the internet.
